Englewood, Colo. – Baxa Corporation is sponsoring a professional presentation discussing the basic facility requirements for compliance with USP 797 and the NIOSH Alert. The Exhibitor’s Theatre presentation, “The Perils and Pitfalls of Developing and Maintaining a Compliant Cleanroom,” describes the challenges of integrating primary engineering controls into the facility. The program provides pharmacy directors and managers with case history reviews and tips on how to use performance criteria to hold providers accountable for cleanroom and facilities development. The program takes place on Tuesday, December 5th at the meeting of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting in the Anaheim Convention Center.

The presentation is expected to help pharmacy directors and operational managers better understand the requirements for meeting the environmental controls outlined for sterile compounding under the Chapter. Presenter James Wagner, President of Controlled Environment Consulting, has more than 27 years’ experience assuring the performance of critical environments. He is an elected member of the United States Pharmacopeia Council of Experts (Sterile Compounding Committee) and a frequent presenter at industry forums on issues such as Biosafety Cabinet design, certification, decontamination, and servicing, cleanroom design and certification, and HEPA filtration. Jim is a faculty member of the Skills Training, Academics and Resources Center (STAR) for pharmacy best practice in Englewood, Colorado.

The complimentary educational program will be held Tuesday, December 5th in Exhibitor’s Theatre 07, of the Anaheim Convention Center, beginning at 11:15 AM. Participants are eligible for one credit hour of Continuing Education (CEU).
