December 02, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Las Vegas, NV - Hideki Electronics, Inc. today announced the introduction of the first home weather station to add NOAA Emergency Alert Systems to complete home and area environmental condition monitoring.

The new Honeywell Emergency Alert Home Weather Station (TN924W, MSRP $349.99) is one of several new Honeywell branded products which will be unveiled by Hideki Electronics, the U.S. marketer of the Honeywell brand of weather products in North America.

For the first public appearance of the new Honeywell products, Hideki secured an ideal position at The 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show, which is held in Las Vegas, January 8-11. The Hideki Electronic exhibit is part of the Hong Kong pavilion in Booth #57035 at The Las Vegas Hilton. There, the company will demonstrate the full line of products, including its DigiView timing products as well as its Honeywell weather stations.

The new Honewyell atomic time with dual projection forecast in number and graphics (PCR426, MSRP $99) imbeds its technology in a flat touchkey pad and LCD display as well as a new weather graphic image that will display temperature graphic from the wireless indoor/outdoor long range sensor. The forecast sensor will relay information for the projection display for one of seven graphics along with the number temperature. The graphics include images for Sunny, Partly Cloudy, Cloudy, Light Rain, Heavy Rain, Snow and Unstable Weather.

Conditions are ideal at Hideki as the company readies its new Honeywell branded weather products that measures any condition from Mother Nature, including national weather broadcasts.

Jim Boyle, president of Hideki Electronics, said, “We are elated to introduce our new Honeywell branded products at the Consumer Electronics Show. Our new Honeywell complete weather station monitors every practical environmental condition so that every member of the household can make informed choices about activities, comfort, safety and appropriate attire for the day.”

The new product (Model TE924, MRSP $349.99), marketed by Hideki under the Honeywell brand name, is the world’s most feature-rich home weather station to date. While the product offers rain, wind, forecasting, atomic time, and up to eight wireless indoor and outdoor sensors that have a range up to 300 feet, the NOAA with S.A.M.E. is the only complete Weather Station available with this feature.

According to Boyle, adding NOAA was a top priority of Hideki. “Hideki and Honeywell want everyone to know that we are a valuable source of information that help people better manage their busy lives.”

NOAA Weather Radio continuously broadcasts National Weather Service forecasts, warnings and other crucial weather information. The radios can be programmed to receive information specific to a certain area, using the Specific Area Message Encoder (SAME) feature, and can sound an alarm to alert users of approaching dangerous weather, natural and man-made hazards. It also is the primary trigger for activating America’s Emergency Alert System on commercial radio and television stations. As a single source for comprehensive weather and emergency information, warnings are broadcast for both natural (such as tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, and volcanoes, etc.) and man-made (such as Amber Alerts (missing children), chemical and biological releases, and terrorist attacks, etc.) events as necessary.
When centrally located in the home, the large high-resolution backlit LCD screen of the Honeywell Home Weather Station accommodates easy examination of all weather conditions in addition to many other informative readings. The product stores over 200 weather records taken from its multiple sensors and through the USB cable (included) can be uploaded to any PC for charting. In addition, the product is equipped with atomic radio reception to automatically adjust the exact time, multiple wake up and ice warning alarms, snooze function, and choices of clock and calendar templates. The moon phase along with sunrise and sunset times are also constantly displayed. All of the information collected by the Honeywell weather station is presented in a choice of six different languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch) and icons indicate seven different weather conditions such as Sunny, Partly Cloudy, Cloudy, Light Rain, Heavy Rain, Snow and Unstable Weather.

Other sensors of the Honeywell Weather Station transmit indoor and outdoor temperature, wind speed and direction, rain fall amounts, humidity levels, and atmospheric pressure trends. The thermo-hygrometers, anemometer (wind meter), and rain collector each has a range over 300 feet to wirelessly transmit sensitive environmental data to the main unit.

A maximum of five separate channels of temperature and humidity readings can be monitored too. “Temperature can be monitored upstairs and downstairs, inside and/or outside, in a baby nursery, wine cellar, in-law apartment, attic, garage… anywhere,” Boyle added.

The Honeywell Complete Weather Station can also be personalized for individual weather preferences and guides. Comfort level indicators are input to personal specifications and are constantly analyzed for current environmental conditions and weather standards. There are alerts for humidity levels, freezing, ice, wet and dry conditions, and optimal circumstances. A daily rainfall or wind alarm can sound if rainfall exceeds a pre-specified amount or wind speed rises above safety levels. Each of the features also keeps an internal memory of daily, weekly, and monthly readings for quick comparisons that allow accurate reporting of any extreme activity.

Other new products in the Honeywell Weather products line include three varieties of long range time and temperature products distance time and temperature
