Successful AIS Bid in Lithuania Gives Ubitech a European Presence
November 30, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Ubitech is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract with Oro Navigacija of Lithuania to provide them with its highly advanced InfoStore AIS System. Having won this tender after open competition is a strategic win for Ubitech because not only does it represent growth in its customer base, it is also the first contract Ubitech has won in a Eurocontrol Member State. In 2005 Ubitech expanded its operations into Europe with the establishment of its European Division just outside of Frankfurt in Ronneburg, Germany. Mr. Herbert Drescher, formerly of Thales ATM, is leading the Division and spearheading Ubitech's efforts to enter the European marketplace. Having now successfully accomplished this mission, Mr. Drescher is looking forward to parlaying this success into future European expansion; "Entering the AIS marketplace in Europe is prohibitive because of the unique context of Eurocontrol and the Single European Sky," he explains, "Now that we will be able to boast a European reference site, our prospects for future business in the region have improved tremendously."
The InfoStore AIS system for Lithuania will be commissioned with both a NOTAM database and static AIS database. The system will provide the following functionality:
- Validation and storage of international and national NOTAMs
- Automatic distribution of validated NOTAMs according to originating NOF and series
- Production of NOTAM bulletins
- NOTAM management facilities:
- Automatic detection of expired and missing NOTAMs
- Automatic processing of incoming checklists
- Processing of multi-part and multi-subject NOTAMs
- Scheduled or on request production of summaries or checklists
- NOTAM transaction history
-NOTAM retrieval allowing all fields as selection criteria
- Set of static aeronautical data
- Facilities for managing static data
- Compatibility with the ARINC 424 and AIXM data models
The modular design of InfoStore allows Oro Navigacija to upgrade the system with additional components such as; Flight Plan database, MET database, Internet Pilot-Briefing Terminals, and EAD System Interface.
