Philips turns to Australian company to tackle AsiaProject-Speech Pty Ltd today has agreed with Philips Speech Recognition Systems to further expand their partnership.
The global technology concern Philips collaborates with the Australian-based company Project-Speech to distribute its speech recognition technology in Asia. While Project-Speech has already successfully offered its services in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, the extended partnership with Philips now enables the company to grow its business across a number of Asian countries including Malaysia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Java, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
“Project-Speech will help Philips further spread its technology in the Asian region and will enable its clients to increase efficiency, save costs and provide better services,” says Marcel Wassink, Managing Director Philips Speech Recognition Systems.
Professional speech recognition solutions are especially valuable for the healthcare sector. By implementing speech recognition, hospitals have reported efficiency increases of more than 70% in document creation and a reduction of the time from examination to the availability of the final report from several days to minutes. Not only hospitals though, any other organization with a large dictation volume - such as law firms – will benefit from Project-Speech’s service offering.
John Fenga, Managing Director of Project-Speech comments: “It is going to be a big challenge and a great opportunity at the same time to enter the different Asian markets, but we are well equipped with the support of Philips and their award-winning technology SpeechMagic.”
Nicholas Assef, Project Speech’s Chairman and Managing Director of the boutique investment bank Lincoln Crowne & Company added: “This is an enormous opportunity for Project Speech, and we are of course thrilled that the relationship with Philips has expanded. We are confident of a successful business roll out across Asia during 2007.”
SpeechMagic™, the technology distributed by Project-Speech, has been implemented at more than 8,000 institutions worldwide and established itself as the speech recognition technology of choice for documentation-intensive industries.
