November 28, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
Rosedale, BC (CANADA) – “Diminishing parks, increased RV sales and increasing use of technology” are the major impacting trends in the RV experience, said Grant Miller, President of Affinity Group Clubs at the Worldwide Camping Conference held in Barbados this month. RV resort operators impacted by these trends attended the conference from the US, Australia, New Zealand, England and Canada. Kristina Barbon and Margot Bartsch represented Holiday Trails Resorts, www.holidaytrailsresorts.com at the conference and reported that, “The conference was an opportunity that should be a catalyst to many great advancements, partnerships, and growth in a travel segment that is poised and already experiencing fantastic growth.”
The development of a global reservation technology platform will ensure a seamless experience for campers, RV renters and RV resort operators, particularly as the industry experiences growth in Fly/Drive vacations. Digital Rez, the conference sponsor and the industry’s leading reservation system provider encouraged RV resort operators to consider global technology to meet the demands of the RV Resort industry’s global trends. They provided conference delegates with information on auxiliary services such as technology providers (Wifi), reservation software, and credit card authorization.
The inaugural World Camping Conference was a great forum for discussion and interaction on the worldwide camping industry, with many noted leaders present. Michael Molino, President of US RVDA noted that the RV camping market shows increasing demassification. Linda Profaizer, Senior Vice President & CEO of ARVC also noted the growing trend of niche marketing in the RV camping world.
Kevin Demers, owner of Holiday Trails Resorts stated, “The level of cooperation and support that was demonstrated within the industry should support the development of worldwide networking and technology for RV Resorts. This will be a real benefit to the RV camper experience and we at Holiday Tails Resorts look forward to being a part of these advancements.”
