Bigmouthmedia ranks first in Scotland in Deloitte Fast 50

Bigmouthmedia, the full search agency, have been placed first in Scotland and 18th in the UK in Deloitte's 2006 Fast 50 rankings. Deloitte's Fast 50 celebrates innovation in business, and has become the benchmark for identifying the most rapid growth in high-technology companies in Britain and Ireland since its inception nine years ago.Now one of the world' leading search engine optimisation companies, bigmouthmedia was first established in 1997 as a 3-person team in Edinburgh. Today, bigmouthmedia employs over 60 staff in Edinburgh, its headquarters, as well as London and New York. The search agency serves over 300 clients including Hilton Hotels International, Tesco, Barclays, the Financial Times and British Airways.

The news of bigmouthmedia's success in the Deloitte Fast 50 follows a successful year for the SEO consultancy: the firm recently won the 'AXA Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year Award' at the National Business Awards 2006, dubbed "the business Oscars" by Chancellor Gordon Brown.
Bigmouthmedia were also awarded 'Best Use of Search Marketing' at the IMA Awards 2006 for its Superbreak campaign. Additionally, the agency won the 'Best Place to Work' award at the 2006 Forth One Radio Awards in Scotland.

To enter the Fast 50 Awards, companies must meet the criteria listed below:
* Have been in business for a minimum of five years;
* Considered a technology company, which is defined as
- producing technology
- manufacturing technology-related products
- be technology intensive, or use unique technology to solve problems
- devoting a high percentage of effort to technology R&D;
* The parent company must be UK-owned and have its headquarters in UK or Ireland
(subsidiaries of multinational organisations do not qualify);
* Operating revenues must be at least £35,000 (50,000 Euros) for 2001 and £550,000 (800,000 Euros) in 2005.
