Singapore – 5 acclaimed polytechnics in Singapore – Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Republic Polytechnic (RP) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) - has launched a new engineering portal at www.engineering.edu.sg to promote engineering courses in Singapore. The website was developed by Singapore’s leading web design and internet marketing company, Xirlynx Innovations, who has also developed online presence and internet marketing solutions for reputable brands such as Meritus Hotels, Singtel and IKEA.The new portal at www.engineering.edu.sg was launched by the Minister of State for Education and Manpower, Mr. Gan Kim Yong, in conjunction with Engineering Week 2006, a week-long nationwide engineering festival and exhibition held in all the 5 polytechnics in Singapore. Targeted mainly for secondary school students, this portal was designed to give readers the information and resources they require to understand more about the polytechnics and the engineering courses they offer.
"With so many schools offering engineering courses out there, this website will be an ideal way to promote our engineering courses. Our new engineering portal will play an important part of our online marketing program to help us promote our polytechnics." says Mr. Fong Yew Chan, Director of Engineering School in Republic Polytechnic, who is also heading this web portal initiative.
"It's a fast and cost-effective way of showcasing the courses we offer and disseminating vast amounts of information to thousands of potential students in Singapore," he added.
“We awarded this project to Xirlynx Innovations because they are able to provide Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services, something other web vendors in Singapore can’t. As SEO is one of our most important online marketing strategies, we need an SEO company with a proven track record to handle this project, and Xirlynx fits the bill.” says Mr. Tan Heap Jui, Assistant Director in Republic Polytechnic’s School of Engineering.
Alvin Tan, Executive Director at Xirlynx Innovations commented: "The Engineering Portal project is our first government project in Singapore and we are delighted to have worked on this assignment. This latest addition to our project portfolio demonstrates our ability to implement projects not only for large corporations, but also for government bodies. We look forward to strive harder to acquire more government-related projects in Singapore."
