For the first time in 30 years, it will be possible to travel from London to York hauled by the famous engine such as Green Arrow, Sir Lamiel or Lord Nelson whilst you relax in classic railway carriages. Combine the thrill of steam travel with a visit to York’s Christmas Markets and the popular National Railway Museum.
The ‘York Festive Flyer’ departs London Kings Cross on Saturday 25 November at 7am and is steam hauled all the way to York. The return journey is by heritage diesel hauled engine and arrives back at 9pm. Therefore overnight accommodation is included both before and after the journey. Both first and standard class packages are available – the first class option includes full English breakfast and four course meal on the return whilst the standard class option allows the freedom to purchase hot drinks and light refreshments from the buffet car.
The First Class package sees you arrive at the four star Hotel Russell on Russell Square on 24 November for a relaxing night before joining the York Festive Flyer at Kings Cross at 7am. Travel first class to York with full English breakfast on your journey up. Spend the day exploring York before returning that evening. A four course dinner is included on the way back to London as well as overnight accommodation on 25 November.
The Standard Class package sees you arrive at the four star Hotel Russell on Russell Square on 24 November for a relaxing night before joining the York Festive Flyer at Kings Cross at 7am. Travel standard class to York and spend the day exploring York before returning that evening. Refreshments can be purchased onboard and overnight accommodation on 25 November is also included.
