EnCirca Offers Low-Cost Parking Service To Protect Trademark Owners in .pro domain.

WOBURN, Mass., March 21, 2005 – Addressing a new risk facing trademark owners, EnCirca, Inc (www.encirca.com), today unveiled a defensive registration service for trademark owners for the .pro domain. Called EnCirca ProParking, the new service allows owners to register their trademarks for a low annual fee to safeguard against cyber squatters in .pro. EnCirca’s program was created to protect trademark owners and builds upon rapidly growing interest in the .pro domain.

The .pro domain was established in 2004 by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to create online marketing opportunities for small licensed professional firms and individuals such as accountants, lawyers, physicians and others. However, virtually none of the .pro defensive registrations submitted by trademark owners protected them against second level registrations, enabling cyber squatters to potentially obtain well-known trademarks before the .pro prefix.

EnCirca ProParking protects trademark owners worldwide. As of April 1, EnCirca will provide the first year of protection for just $99, but orders received before March 31, will receive an introductory price of just $49. Eligibility is open to any trademark owner and no proof of a trademark filing is required to obtain the service. Similar defensive registration programs cost $900 annually and require a mandatory four year term for a total cost of $3,600.
