Atlanta, GA/November 17, 2006 – Launching in November, Everyday Biographies, means that your grandparents’ teenage years can now be made available in paperback or a child can get to know a parent who has passed away by reading their life story. The site makes it simple to give someone a gift of having an autobiography, childhood memories book, or a travel memoir professionally written. The person receiving the gift doesn’t have to write a word. They simply share memories over a series of telephone conversations and Everyday Biographies produces the book. The company also produces life story photoshows on DVD which make ideal gifts for major birthdays. The company was founded by Irish marketing consultant, Evan Mangan. With its initial launch, Everyday Biographies will be offering its services in North America, Europe, and Australia. “Most people would love to know more about their parents’ or grandparents’ childhood and teenage years but not everyone has the time or ability to write a book. The beauty of our service is that we make it simple and enjoyable to turn those memories into a professionally written book that looks just like a book you would get in a bookstore. It is a perfect gift because everyone loves reminiscing about their childhood and of course the book will be around for generations to come,” said Evan Mangan, founder of Everyday Biographies.
“One of the reasons I started this company was because my father turned 70 this year and I realized that my parents won’t be around forever. If something were to happen to them my three year old son wouldn’t get to know their personalities and also wouldn’t get to hear the stories that I had heard of growing up in the 1940s and 1950s,” continued Mangan. “So it led me to think of how I could have their childhood memories and life stories written in a way that captures their personalities. Now my son, and in time his children, will be able to read the stories behind the photographs. From this I realized that such a product could help other families preserve the personalities and memories of loved ones.”
Everyday Biographies is a gift company that enables families to give someone a unique gift – the gift of having memories professionally captured in a simple and enjoyable way. Or customers can have their own memories professionally recorded and can then give the book as a gift to grandchildren. Customers are provided with guidance on how to recall childhood memories and with telephone interviewers, personal ghost-writers and talented visual stylists, Everyday Biographies have professionals who bring each project to life. Often the books produced by Everyday Biographies are treasured by children who have lost a parent or grandparent and would love to know more about them.
“Dad passed away last year and it’s great for the whole family to be able to read his story and the memories we all shared about him,” said Ed Fernandez of Los Angeles. “When I received the completed book it was just incredible and uplifting to read it. I love the fact that our favorite photos of Dad are interspersed throughout it.”
Everyday Biographies also offers a unique gift for anyone who has traveled extensively. Memories of travel adventures can be turned into a travel memoir written by a professional travel writer. Bound in paperback and illustrated with favorite travel photos it is a book that is treasured by children as they marvel at stories of their parent’s adventures.
“In 2001 I backpacked around Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe. I kept an online diary which is a nice record of my adventure but I was looking for a better way of putting an overview of my trip together,” said David Crawford of New York. “I spoke to Everyday Biographies on the phone a few times and told them about the background to my trip and then shared the memories of all my adventures. I forwarded my favorite photographs and my online diary and within a few weeks they sent me back a draft of my book, fully illustrated with all the photographs. I love it. It looks amazing. I got married last year and when we have kids it’ll be lovely to give them the book to read some day.”
In addition to the books, Everyday Biographies offers DVD photoshows that are ideal for telling the story of someone’s life, either at a 70th birthday or a 1st birthday family gathering. The company also offers free lifechart software on their website that allows a person to see how their life has mapped-out to date.
