About the Boca Philharmonic Symphonia: In 2004 Marshall Turkin, former Executive Director of major American orchestras, and Martin Coyne, a former Chairman of the Board of the Florida Philharmonic conceived the idea for the Symphonia. Their founding vision was to offer a unique service to the community by presenting an annual series of Connoisseur Concerts. Now entering it’s second season, the concerts feature the most accomplished orchestral musicians in the area, performing masterworks in a wide spectrum of colors conducted by the most experienced and acclaimed maestros available on the international scene. The orchestra is a chamber-size one - a Symphonia - so that the Boca Raton area might readily afford to maintain it economically. The Symphonia’s Young People’s Concerts and In-school Activities have become an integral part of the founders’ mission and important addition to the community.
