Acts as Part of Entertainment Lineup
“Sisters in the Spirit” and the Manhattans
[Raleigh, NC] – The Mid-Eastern Atlantic Coast Conference (MEAC) announced today that the Sisters in the Spirit tour group and The Manhattans will hold separate concerts as part of the lineup of entertainment surrounding the 2007 basketball tournament.
Sisters in the Spirit will be featured at the Progress Energy Center in downtown Raleigh on Monday night, March 5th. The Manhattans will perform at the Old School Party on Friday March 10th, 2007 at the Raleigh Marriot-Crabtree Valley, a one of the tournament’s headquarters hotels.
“We are excited to host such dynamic groups as the Sisters in the Spirit and The Manhattans,” said MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis Thomas. “This, however, is only a taste of what is yet to come for the tournament. This year, we’re hosting more concerts and special events than ever before, enhancing the entertainment value for our fans.”
Sisters in the Spirit, dedicated to honoring the spiritual bond between women in all walks of life, is conducting its fifth annual tour. Previous tours have featured gospel singers such as Juanita Bynum, Yolanda Adams, Kelly Price and Sheila E. For more information, visit www.alew.com.
