Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc. announced that its recently retired Business Development Manager, Peg Schrader, was named Wisconsin Women in Transportation’s Woman of the Year. She was honored at a Women in Transportation event on November 14, 2006. Ms. Schrader’s nomination reflected her outstanding contributions the transportation industry, including her contribution toward the advancement of women and minorities in the transportation field.
She has dedicated her career of nearly 30 years to serving women in the transportation industry and community. Her most outstanding contribution to the industry is the guidance and encouragement she has given to numerous women, as a supervisor, mentor, trainer and friend. The surest testaments to Peg’s success are the women who have served under her tutelage who now occupy positions of influence themselves in the historically male-dominated transit industry.
Ms. Sandy McGee, one of Ms. Schrader’s former employees, said, “Without Peg's guidance, confidence and leadership I would not be where I am today. Peg gave me a chance.
