International Solar Energy Trade Mission to China will visit 5 major manufacturers

November 15, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
The participants in the second “PV Business Tour China 2006” from 26 November to 1 December 2006 will visit major Chinese manufacturers such as Suntech Power, CEEG Nanjing PV-Tech, Trina Solar Energy and Shanghai Topsola. The market capitalisation of the stock-listed company Suntech Power is one of the highest in the global solar industry, with several billion dollars. Nanjing PV-Tech and Trina Solar Energy are ambitious manufacturers considering a stock market listing. Anyone interested can join this international solar energy trade mission. The program will provide valuable strategic information, taking into account the fact that prices of solar modules on the world market are currently going down, while on the other hand the Chinese solar industry is rapidly expanding. So far, international business people from France, The Netherlands, Bangladesh and Ukraine have already registered. The setup of the international SolarPlaza trade missions and the different backgrounds of the delegates have proved to be a unique way to establish close business relationships. SolarPlaza is responsible for the organisation of this tour, in close collaboration with the Chinese government agency NDRC/PMO and the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA).

Programme
The focus of this international PV trade mission is to meet the Chinese manufacturers of solar grade silicon, wafers, cells and modules.
Besides the factory visits, several other companies and organisations will give a presentation during the one week program, such as Ningbo Solar and Yunnan Tianda. Furthermore, all major Chinese PV companies and those interested will be invited to join the brokerage event on the last day in Shanghai. Chinese and International companies will make a 3-minute presentation to enhance further efficient contacts and one-on-one meetings. Based on the experiences in the previous China Tour, this event will be attended by at least another 30 Chinese companies.

Fully organised trade mission
The PV Business Tour programme is fully organised and includes stays in 4-star hotels and all travel arrangements. The all-inclusive fee for the tour is € 2,950. Participants only have to arrange their return-flight tickets to Shanghai, where the tour starts and ends.
Business owners, investors, entrepreneurs and executives interested in developing partnership networks to discover collaboration and market opportunities or in collecting strategic market info, are very welcome to join the trade mission. The details of the complete programme and a registration form are available on our website: www.solarplaza.com, the global solar PV marketplace for trade and information. Participants must apply for a visa, for which the Chinese organisers and SolarPlaza will provide a formal invitation letter.

Market expectations
The Chinese PV industry is growing rapidly, with many new entrants in all stages of the solar supply chain. As far as the ambitions of the players in the Chinese PV industry are concerned, China could well become the leading country in terms of solar cell and module production within the next 5 years. Currently, China is the world’s third country in terms of solar cell production capacity, with more than 20 manufacturers. Industrial activities are stimulated by tax incentives and other benefits, which provide a good foundation for further growth. On the other hand, SolarPlaza foresees a further market consolidation within the solar industry as a consequence of the current module price decreases on the market. This is the result of significantly lower sales in the German PV market in 2006, one of the major export markets for Chinese PV manufacturers.
