First International Procurement Organization Survey to be conducted in China

Shanghai, China - March 18, 2005 - The China Supply Chain Council (CSCC) today launched a survey to identify trends and success factors for International Procurement Organizations (IPOs) in China. The survey conducted in conjunction with Accenture, covers issues such as critical success factors when ramping up a China IPO, areas to consider, roles and responsibilities, the value of a China IPO amongst others. The first China IPOs survey also responds to sourcing as a global activity, where some companies are taking positions of advantage by sourcing from China at extremely competitive prices, while others are just beginning, and supply risks.

The survey is intended for foreign invested companies in the process of setting a global sourcing unit or already operating an IPO in China.

The survey results will be discussed at the first China IPO Conference to be held on May 26 at the Mayfair Hotel in Shanghai, China. "This is the first time that a China conference showcases experiences and explores what are the best practices in setting-up, growing or running global procurement or sourcing units in China." says CSCC founder, Max Henry.

The China IPO Conference will bring together over 100 procurement and sourcing executives to discuss the latest opportunities, advancements and trends critical to their IPO operations. The conference agenda includes case studies and presentations and panel sessions by senior executives.
