The National Black MBA Association Kentucky Chapter, Inc. is sponsoring a fundraising event which will highlight local artists and musicians at the historic E & S Gallery. The goal of the event is to raise dollars for the NBMBAA Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) high school mentoring program.

This is a professional networking and fundraising event which will draw professionals from the Louisville and Lexington areas. Other professional groups and organizations such as National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), 100 Black Men, National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ) will be asked to attend. Several local corporations will be participating in this event including (but not limited to): Brown-Forman, LG&E and Sysco Foods. We expect 100 to 200 persons to attend.

Leaders of Tomorrow Program

The Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program provides a forum for area professionals to interact with students of a marginal grade point average in a relaxed environment. Through these interactions students are mentored in the best practices of how to succeed scholastically and socially. The Louisville LOT session hosts 30 students each school year and partners with the Louisville Education and Employment Program.

In addition to the local mentoring program a select group of the participating students are awarded the privilege to attend the National Black MBA Association LOT conference which is held in conjunction with the NBMBAA National conference. The LOT conference brings more than 300 high school students from across the country together in workshops that focus on scholastic development, community service, career planning, social skills and peer pressure. With funding from L G & E and MSD, we have selected five students to participate in the conference this year. Some students from Louisville have been awarded college scholarships at previous conferences.
