Portrait Displays Sues EnTech Taiwan, Bryan Speece, and Ashley Saldanha for Infringement of its Copyrighted Software, Display Tune®, and Other Claims

Pleasanton, CA — Portrait Displays, Inc., a global leader in visual enhancement software products for computer displays, announced today that it has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California against EnTech Taiwan and two EnTech employees, Bryan Speece and Ashley Saldanha, who formerly worked at Portrait Displays. The suit claims that EnTech, Speece, and Saldanha have misappropriated code from Portrait Displays' copyrighted Display Tune® software program and are now marketing and selling the infringing code in EnTech's product "softOSD'. The suit contains claims for copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, interference with economic advantage, and unfair competition. The suit seeks damages and an injunction against EnTech, Speece, and Saldanha preventing further marketing and sales of the infringing product.

In announcing the legal action, Portrait Displays' President/CEO, J. Michael James, said, "Portrait Displays aggressively protects its intellectual property rights and today's filing demonstrates that we will take all appropriate action to protect our copyright in Display Tune.'
