Hai-Tien Yu, PhD Named Branch Manager at Geocomp Corporation’s New York Office

In his new position as Branch Manager, Dr. Yu will promote the consulting and field system divisions in New York as well as manage the technical and financial aspects of projects. Dr. Yu will assist in the enhancement and product marketing of iSite and iSiteCentral, the company’s real-time, on-demand, web-based monitoring services. Participating in company-wide efforts to increase and improve the scope and quality of Geocomp’s services will also be one of Dr. Yu’s key responsibilities.
For five years previous to joining Geocomp, Dr. Yu was the Vice President responsible for geotechnical and structural instrumentation at Wang Engineering Services in New Jersey. Prior to that, he was Technical Manager in charge of product development and special project management at Slope Indicator in Seattle, WA. Before he moved to the U.S. in 1998, he was the Head of Geotechnology at Trafalgar House Technology (now Skanska Technology) in the UK.
Dr. Yu holds a BS in Earth Science as well as MS and PhD degrees in Engineering Geology from University of Wales in the UK. He is a Charted Engineer registered in the UK and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in the UK.
A native of Taiwan, Dr. Yu resides in New Jersey.
