A Sheep at the Wheel releases controversial music video

In the heat of the U.S. election season, emergent indie rock band, A Sheep at the Wheel, releases a controversial video for their new single "Machine Guns and Jesus Christ". With politics, the Iraq conflict and the war on Terror front and center in every debate, “Machine Guns” has begun showing up everywhere, spreading exponentially on political blogs, chat rooms, and sites all over the web. Whether outraged or of like mind, republicans and democrats alike are talking about this video.

The remarkable thing is that the video for “Machine Guns” was produced on virtually no budget and is being distributed exclusively through the internet. A Sheep at the Wheel has shown that the playing field between independent and major label artists is much more level than it used to be.

“We really pushed over the last week to get this song released, because there are some important elections in the USA this week” says lead singer, Courtney Klassen. “I'm not endorsing any candidates, but I think that there are some important issues at the fore here. I think that everyone in the US needs to be careful that they have thought through all of these issues before they head to the voting booth.”

Partial proceeds from online sales of the single are being donated to Amnesty International. “Machine Guns and Jesus Christ” is the first single from A Sheep at the Wheel’s second independent release due out this spring.
