Corra Group has increased its efforts to assure its clients that the background checking service is filtering out any possible sexual offenders. Corra’s efforts are based partly on the weeklong sweep conducted by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and a combined Federal, State and Local Police Authorities who rounded up 971 sexual offenders who failed to register with local authorities.
“We have always been careful to notify our clients of job candidates who are listed on the sexual offenders’ registry,” said Nick Gustavson, Co-Founder of Corra Group. But seeing where over 900 sexual felons are picked up in a week long sweep tells us we need to maintain even greater vigilance on behalf of our clients.
“Sexual felons are not just pedophiles,” Gustavson continued. “Sex crimes run the gamut and are inflicted upon mature men and women as well as children. Sexual offenders in the work place can make employees very easy and prove a drain on company morale.”
Corra is sensitive to the reality that there are millions of sexual offenders, and many have similar names. Corra will intensify its efforts to monitor the ever expanding sexual offenders’ registry.
