Over 1,000 LDS Women Unite Across the Globe

The LDS Relief Society once had a magazine of its own, written by the women of the church, for the women of the church. That magazine, which provided a voice for LDS women throughout the world, was discontinued in 1970. Since then, the sisters of the Relief Society have felt its void. In an attempt to connect LDS women around the world, www.theldswoman.com was born. Website founder Megh Stubbs says, "The church is all over the world. There are sisters in the gospel in almost every country and we are all working for the same thing; spreading the gospel and inspiring good in our families and our communities. I want to know these sisters. I want to hear their testimonies and the result of their labors for good. I want to share my hopes and aspirations with other sisters of the same heart. This is TheLDSWoman. This is our vision."Using the remarkable reach of the worldwide Internet, The LDS Woman.com not only provides an online magazine for LDS women, but it allows them to write it. Every member of TheLDSWoman.com is able to write articles that are then posted to the site as part of the online magazine. In addition, it provides a social community where the women are able to chat, discuss forum topics, blog, create & join groups, and share everything from recipes to testimonies. Best yet, it’s all free. They are even able to connect by adding each other as online "friends". TheLDSWoman.com even removes international barriers by enabling all articles to be written and translated into different languages. Megh added, "Our hope is that every LDS woman will have a chance to share, support, and uplift one another, wherever the gospel is found. We hope to help break the borders of local wards and stakes, and to help the women of the Relief Society realize the full impact of the now worldwide organization which they are a part of, and we are seeing this happen."
TheLDSWoman.com releases a monthly online issue written by the website founders & guest contributors from the site. However, due to its unique Web 2.0 capabilities, and the dedication of its members, there is always an article fresh off the press.
