With the Holidays just around the corner, it's time for people of faith to begin thinking about their gift lists, and what better gift to give than a novel which presents the truth of the gospel through the use of enjoyable fiction. This is what author James M. Becher hopes to accomplish with his two unique evangelistic novels, which just may be on Barns& Noble's shelves this year, due to the publisher, PublishAmerica, finally making them returnable.
Mr. Becher's latest achievement is a sci-fi novel, specifically time-travel, which, according to Tami Brady is reminiscent of The Time Machine by H. G. Wells with a unique Christian twist.” Mr. Becher uses 7 different time periods, 6 in the past and one in the future, to convey spiritual lessons and point to the truth of the gospel. The title is: "Impossible Journey, a tale of times and truth." It's about some future scientists who decide to time-travel back to Eden in an effort to prevent the fall of man and thus eliminate all evil in the world. But they can only go so far in one leap and at one point get pulled forward to their future. Thus the 7 different time periods. Since each of the 6 past periods is dealt with in some detail, historical fiction fans should enjoy this novel almost as much as sci-fi buffs.
The ISBN is: 1-4137-5054-0. Aside from the bookstore shelves, the novel may also be purchased online at www.barnsandnoble.com, www.amazon.com, and other online bookstores and at a discount at the author’s websites: http://www.publishedauthors.net/jmb-impj/index.html

For purely historical fiction with a punch check out Mr. Becher's other unique novel, "OF SUCH IS THE KINGCOME, A Novel of Biblical Times." Reviewer Rudelle Thomas rightly describes it as “a fictional novel based on Biblical Truth.” Set entirely in ancient Palestine at the time of Christ and the Roman Empire, this novel primarily traces the lives of 3 seekers from different walks of life, a non-conformist salesman, a disgruntled blacksmith and a musing mendicant, who finally find their fulfillment through the crucified and risen Christ. The novel also traces the lives of other characters, in particular, Pilate, Herod and John the Baptist. Unlike some Biblical novels of the past, "OF SUCH IS THE KINGDOM" poses no extra-Biblical miracles or legends. It does however embellish the Biblical facts with conjectural possibilities. Part one deals with the insurrection against Pontius Pilate and who may have really been behind it. Part two covers a subsequent failed robbery attempt, trial and crucifixion. Reviewer, Vivian Crystal recommends: Read this book to discover the fictional yet all too probable, and powerful, effect of one man sent to speak to the heart of every human being within this novel and those who read it. And she adds this compliment for the author: Very nicely written, J. M. Becher!
