Invent-Tech Licenses POP A TOP To Michigan Manufacturer

(MIAMI, FL) Invent-Tech is very pleased to confirm the receipt of a fully executed, multi-year licensing agreement for the Pop A Top beverage accessory on behalf of the inventor and our client, Russell B. of Michigan. We are especially eager to announce that the terms of this licensing agreement include an extremely generous royalty rate for the inventor.

Russell’s Pop A Top has been the topic of several entries on the Invent-Tech Network Blog, as the company carefully evaluated the product and their interest over a period of several months. Pop A Top is the latest and most unique product available for opening beverage cans. The Pop A Top is attractive, lightweight yet sturdy, and easily fits in a pocket, purse or on a key chain. Additionally, it is a perfect promotional item for corporate premium incentives, gifts, or as trade show giveaways.

The licensee of the Pop A Top requested more information about the product’s design in late April 2006, just over a year after Russell’s contract with Invent-Tech began. The company confirmed their interest during a face-to-face meeting with our Manufacturer Response Team representatives at this year’s National Hardware Show, which we reported in a May 10th blog entry (Invent-Tech engages in product development and licensing discussion with interested manufacturer during Day 2 of National Hardware Show…).

After performing feasibility studies and producing a prototype, the company was excited about the potential for this simple invention in the marketplace. To augment the licensee’s efforts, Invent-Tech provided in-house design assistance for packaging and logo design for the product as well as contributing several thousand dollars toward the initial product research studies and tooling costs. Additionally, pursuant to our contract with the inventor, Invent-Tech will cover the costs involved in securing intellectual property rights for the Pop A Top.
