AvalonRF Debuts its Lightweight mobile Multidirectional Antenna receiver with TAGs New Aerial UAV Helicopter Close Surveillance Capabilities at the 77th Oscars

Hollywood, CA., March 16 2005 . In support of joint security operations provided by Los Angeles Police Department – LAPD, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security - DHS, Tactical Aerospace Group (TAG) was on site at the 77th Oscars – Academy Awards in Hollywood with a UAV helicopter to provide an aerial downlink and the ability to facilitate immediate incident response to any security breach.

Onboard and ground control video downlinks for TAG were supplied by Avalon RF (www.avalonrf.com) and featured their new TA08 Lightweight mobile Multidirectional receiver with an integrated antenna structure system offering a range of up to 25 miles.

These Antenna Receiver systems are very easy to deploy – just power this lightweight system from a battery, car, mains and the Helicopter or UAV onboard camera is immediately operational and viewed at the ground.


Avalon’s Lightweight mobile Multidirectional receiver is currently deployed by Police Departments and agencies and AvalonRF anticipates that most Police and Fire departments will have such easy deployable UAV Helicopters with these simple to deploy Multidirectional Antenna Receivers in the coming years.

The new unmanned aerial surveillance capability allows Police and Fire Departments and local command and control authorities to create a stationery camera position over any location within minutes.

The onboard video link can be directed from the ground by the local command center to identify specific points or persons of interest and then be merged into the wide area video distribution network to provide supervisory oversight to local, state and regional commanders as well as a real time feed directly to Washington and national Department of Homeland Security headquarters.

TAG’s www.tacticalaerospacegroup.com low altitude loitering capability marks a new era in security and event monitoring for civil applications and a represents a significant advance in facilitating a directed aerial force multiplier for law enforcement and national security operations.
