Global Action Foundation Launches Innovative Solutions to Address Extreme Poverty

a little more than a year ago to found The Global Action Foundation (GAF), whose mission is to use innovative solutions to help in the global fight to eradicate extreme poverty.

In Sierra Leone, GAF has already partnered with Dr. Mohamed Barrie to create the National Organization for Welbody (NOW), an NGO that concentrates on feeding and educating amputee victims as well as providing medical treatment for children suffering from malnutrition.

With more funds, GAF will be able to extend its programs to the Eastern Region of Sierra Leone in an area known as Kono where the war feels like it ended only yesterday.

Radcliff, GAF’s financial advisor, along with vice president Kathy Kelly, explain that: “Extreme poverty happens to those without homes, food, clothing, clean water or access to educational or medical facilities. For most of us, it is difficult to even imagine what life would be like under these conditions.”

According to Kathy Kelly, Squidoo has been an incredible communication tool that was critical in the organization of GAF’s first two fundraisers: OUT of DARKNESS, N.O.W. a speaking event featuring Dan Kelly on Friday, November 3rd in New York at the Prince Street Club in Soho, and a dance marathon planned for this Spring.

“Squidoo has helped GAF give a voice to the amputee camp victims and children suffering from malnutrition in Sierra Leone.
