NETASQ Launches NETASQ Shield V2.0 to Protect Remote and Mobile Users

Employees are increasingly finding themselves having to bring work outside the four walls of the company premises – using Internet access from a hot spot in an airport lounge, a hotel room or even from home. The NETASQ Shield security agent boosts the security on fixed or portable workstations, and provides a new layer of security that completes the peripheral security solutions already embedded in NETASQ IPS-Firewalls.

The main function of the NETASQ Shield lies in the management (analysis, authorization, blocking, and logging) of traffic going to and coming from a workstation. Applying the ASQ technology, NETASQ Shield v2.0 analyzes network traffic and combines several analyses in order to detect attempts at attacking the protected workstation.

When installed on either a workstation or laptop, NETASQ Shield consumes very little memory and CPU time. It is simple to implement on a single workstation or several hundred, and in very little time. Furthermore, it can be configured in such a way that the user does not have to receive alerts regarding events, thereby maintaining productivity with the least possible disruption.
