In the Chair™ has been selected, out of hundreds of applications, to launch the new version of its award winning Music Performance Software at the prestigious Web 2.0 conference. The conference, taking place in San Francisco on November 7th to 9th, is the hottest ticket in Silicon Valley. The opportunity once again puts the Adelaide, Australia and Santa Clara, USA based company in the spotlight as one of the world’s hottest software startups.
To date, In the Chair has won numerous awards including the Guy Manson Hottest Company award at Anzatech, first prize in the Learning category of Secrets of Australian IT and the award of the Best Australian Made product by the Australian Music Association. In the Chair has also been invited to showcase at the exclusive DEMO@15, the premier launchpad for new technologies, recognizing In the Chair as among the best in technology and music.
In the Chair™ is Music Performance Software which allows students and budding musicians to practice, rehearse and perform with professional bands and orchestras from the first day they start learning an instrument. You watch the video of the conductor or band, hear the musicians around you and play along.
The software’s innovative ability to ‘listen’ to a musical performance and provide real time realistic responses has captured the attention of innovators and investors as well as musicians. Major music publishers, foreseeing the impact of this on the future of music learning, will offer their music and learning methods via the new version of In the Chair.
