With the poker craze continuing to sweep the globe, PokerNews has recently launched websites in two growing markets – PokerNews Spain (http://es.pokernews.com) and PokerNews Estonia (http://ee.pokernews.com). Each website will deliver the latest poker news from around the world, plus special promotions and information to the people of Spain and Estonia in their respective languages.PokerNews CEO Damon Rasheed is upbeat about the newest additions to the PokerNews family, “I am delighted to welcome the Spanish and Estonian language editions of Poker News to our extensive European language network of poker websites. I know from playing in some of the European online poker rooms that people in both these countries love to play poker so it is natural to think that they will also enjoy having a dedicated and local language resource.”
The launch of PokerNews Estonia also received an added boost with co-editor Marek Kolk recently winning the 888 UK Poker Open and pocketing $250,000. For the tiny Baltic nation, it has been a huge boost to the poker scene there and Marek is hoping PokerNews Estonia can contribute as well, “There is only one casino in Estonia offering cash games so the online environment is important to the growth of poker in Estonia.”
“Thanks to the support of the Poker News network, we can promote for local Estonian players exclusive freerolls to some of the biggest tournaments such as the Aussie Millions, the WSOP and others. For most Estonians, playing a poker tournament with a buy-in of $5,000 or more is just a dream without freerolls or going through several qualifiers; now they have a chance.”
The addition of Estonia and Spain brings the number of countries with a dedicated PokerNews website to sixteen. There are now PokerNews.com native language sites in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Holland, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Poland, Australia, China, Portugal, Japan and Norway.
