Unique Window And Door Receives Gold Award For Service Friday At 2006 Bkd Indiana Excellence Award Luncheon

INDIANAPOLIS – Unique Window and Door, a complete home remodeling company that has served the central Indiana community since 1983, won the Gold Award for Service Friday at the 2006 BKD Indiana Excellence Award luncheon at the Indianapolis Marriot Downtown.

The award, sponsored by title sponsor BKD LLP, Indiana Business magazine, National City Bank
of Indiana and Bose McKinney and Evans, acknowledged Unique Window and Door as the leading Indiana company that through innovative and progressive, service-related ways has improved its industry and industry practices throughout the state.

“Through hard work, determination and participation in an overall company plan to provide our products and services in professional, ethical and community-minded ways, we are honored to be acknowledged by BKD,” said Unique Window and Door president Robert Dillon. Indianapolis companies Product Action International LLC and Butler MacDonald Inc. won silver and bronze awards, respectively.

In its formal application for consideration for the award, Unique Window and Door detailed how it has transformed itself into a company that provides full-service home remodeling. The company recently adapted a salaried sales force and abandoned what is the industry’s typical commission-only sales force. Unique Window and Door also uses its own staff of installers and service department – not outside contractors, typically used throughout the home remodeling industry. And the company backs its central Indiana community through charitable participation, including through its own Ultimate Home Makeover and partnerships with the Little Red Door Cancer Agency, Lighthouse Mission Ministries, United Christmas Fund and other community partnerships.

“Through all we do, I believe operating a business and conducting business should be done in the highest ethical manner possible,” Dillon said. “I believe we’ve raised the bar and others are following.”
