After a few months off from painting, artist Mark Rushton has released three new paintings that are currently available as inexpensive framed prints. The new titles are "Green Texture Filter", "Brown Texture Glow", and "Yellow Green Textured Fog", and all can be viewed on Rushton's web site, markrushton.com.
The inspiration for the current line has come mostly from the changing autumn colors near his home.
"These paintings provide a splash of color for a boring wall, whether it's in a cube, an office, or throughout your home," says Rushton, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. "These images are thought-provoking, beautiful, and have a positive tactile nature to them. The manufacture of these framed prints is top notch and guaranteed."
Rushton refers to his paintings as a sort of "ambient art", intended to provider the view with a "chill out" experience.
Rushton has been painting for almost two decades, attended the Kansas City Art Institute, has been in numerous shows, but only in the past year has he been offering images of his paintings for sale via the internet.
Using the custom-printing services of CafePress.com (Rushton was one of the company's first store owners back in August of 1999), he has been adding more images via his web site, art.markrushton.com. All prints are custom manufactured using archival inks and acid-free paper. Framed prints are matted and framed in a stylish black frame with plexiglass cover. Frames include complete backing. Frame size: 15" x 19".
Recent series of paintings include such titles as "Red And Blue Microfiber" and "Floating Point".
Rushton normally paints using acrylics on synthetic paper, although some recent additions, including his "Black Celebration" series of 12 prints from original paintings, are acrylic on traditional paper.
The mission, as Rushton sees it, is to provide quality prints of original artworks at very affordable prices. All of Rushton's current prints are available for under $50 before shipping.
