Wadsworth to distribute AMP Netconnect Jack Termination training kit

London, 21th October 2006: Wadsworth, one of the UK’s leading distributors, will be the first UK company to distribute the SL Jack Termination Kit from the AMP NETCONNECT Business Unit of Tyco Electronics. The kit, which includes training videos and instruction sheets, will help installers to quickly learn how to use the AMP NETCONNECT SL Jack Termination tool. Once the training is completed, installers will be able to deploy a copper network cable system twice as fast as a traditional punch down tool. It will be available from Wadsworth by the end of November for guaranteed next day delivery.

The AMP NETCONNECT Jack Termination Training Kit is designed to give installers a quick and easy overview on how to terminate Cat5e, Cat6, UTP, FTP and PiMF cables using the SL Jack tool. Unlike a traditional punch down tool, the SL Jacks requires some specific training to enable installers to get the smooth motion required to terminate all eight conductors at once. Once mastered, the SL Jack halves termination time, reduces error rate and doubles engineer’s productivity.

The new training kit includes:

• A hard case
• The SL Termination Tool with Die Set
• Instruction sheets
• CD-Rom with training videos for various cable types
• 25 Jacks
