Vancouver – A new website helping those with dreams of reaching the roof of Africa has recently been launched. www.mountainQUESTadventures.com is jam packed with free information about taking on the challenge of climbing Africa’s highest mountain. MountainQUEST (MQA) was founded by high altitude mountain climber Russ Barstow, who has himself, reached the top of Kilimanjaro numerous times. “What we offer is a ‘one stop shop’ for anyone wondering what it takes to climb Kilimanjaro,” says MQA president Russ Barstow. “Our site is full of great information… from training hints, tips on how to prepare for altitude, a 26 page guidebook that’s free to download, to over 100 absolutely stunning pictures.”
MountainQUEST specializes in arranging custom climbs on Mt. Kilimanjaro. They also arrange safaris in East Africa and excursions to the white sand beaches of Zanzibar. With a focus on small group travel, remote routes and unique off the beaten path travel ideas, MQA is a company formed to help clients realize their dreams.
Clients are expected to relax, “After all…” says Barstow “they are on vacation! We want them to focus on enjoying their journey, instead of worrying about the climb.” MQA accomplishes this by ensuring that their teams are better prepared than most.
Climbers who sign up for a climb are provided with a list of required reading, as well as regular emails and phone calls. “We are hands on with everything, from training recommendations to advice on purchasing gear,” says Barstow. “Our climbers are always the best prepared team on the mountain.”
Barstow has spent time in the numerous lodges that dot the countryside in the lush Green foothills of Kilimanjaro. “We preview the accommodations we recommend,” says Barstow. “I really like this little family run lodge in the Usa River area. The food is just unbelievable, and the grounds are amazingly lush. They grow all of their food on site, bake their own bread and even make their own ice cream!” says Barstow.
MountainQUEST staff also makes it their business to be as well informed on the culture, and history of their destinations as possible, as reflected in the quality of information posted on the adventure outfitter’s website at www.mountainQUESTadventures.com.
”It’s all about following your dreams…” Barstow says. “You just need to have the courage to take that first step!”
