October 19, 2006 (Orlando, FL) —- The inaugural broadcast of Trinity Broadcasting Network’s (TBN) new full-power television station in Orlando, Florida will be celebrated by Paul and Jan Crouch, Pastor Benny Hinn, Singer and Preacher Judy Jacobs at a dedicatory service Saturday, October 21st at 6:00 pm EST hosted by Pastor George Cope and Calvary Assembly in Winter Park, Fl. WGTL TV, Channel 52, is poised to reach over four million viewers in the Orlando and Cocoa Beach metropolitan areas with TBN’s wide range of innovative faith-based and family friendly programming. “This is a real “Praise the Lord” because now over four million people will be able to enjoy the benefits of TBN’s inspirational programming every day, all day,” said Dr. Paul Crouch, TBN founder. “We are exceptionally moved that the faith community, as represented by Pastor George Cope and Calvary Assembly’s hospitality, has welcomed this new station with such enthusiasm.”
Pastor Cope said his church wants to celebrate the TBN entrance to the Orlando television market. “It will be a two hour special from Orlando to celebrate the arrival of TBN and the purchase of Channel 52,” said Pastor Cope. “This is an evening where we are opening our doors to say ‘Welcome’ and we want to celebrate together.” Pastor Cope said tickets are free to the first 5,000 people who arrive.
As the world’s largest religious network and America’s most watched faith channel, TBN treats spirituality as a normal part of daily life. In doing so, it continues successfully to tally an ambitious, expanding list of landmark TV programming and feature films suitable for the entire family.
“TBN is home to tens of millions of Americans seeking a quality television experience,” said Paul Crouch Jr., Vice President of TBN and eldest son of the Crouches. “TBN seeks to do more than merely entertain. TBN’s goal is to inspire people, engage their minds, and encourage their spirit through contemporary, positive programming that speaks to the heart.”
The hit reality show “Travel the Road” is one such offering. This popular weekly program chronicles the adventures of two young missionaries traveling remote hideaways all over the world, spreading the gospel. The show covers 25 countries, and stretches across 40,000 miles as missionaries Tim and Will face daring exploits, on-the-edge surprises, and incredible discoveries.
And coming up in 2007, TBN will debut the highly acclaimed motion picture One Night With The King, starring silver-screen legends Peter O’Toole and Omar Sharif. Based on the best- selling novel Hadassah: One Night With The King by Tommy Tenney and Mark Andrew Olsen, this dramatic film chronicles the rise of the Old testament hero Esther from peasant to princess, her courageous role in the redemption of her people from destruction and death, and her winning of the love of the most powerful man in the kingdom — by seeking his heart rather than the riches of his kingdom. This epic motion picture is currently in theaters nationwide.
“TBN provides what scores of American households are eager to engage in – high-quality entertainment matched with contemporary content that nurtures family values and spiritual beliefs,” said Dr. Crouch. “Jan and I are thrilled to welcome viewers in the Orlando and Cocoa Beach area to the TBN family!”
