(New York City, March 10, 2004) – The Big Apple Comic Book, Art, & Toy Show, NYC’s largest popular arts convention, returns this April1-2-3 with fanfare, fun, and excitement!Take a trip to Weird Worlds at the Big Apple Con, from the far reaches of Outer Space to Bottom of the Sea! From Star Wars Epi III, The Revenge Of The Sith come lovely lady Jedi Amy Allen, Aayla Secura, and Mary Oyaya, Unduli Lumanara pursued by blood thirsty bounty hunter Aurra Sing Michonne Bourriague. Enter Sci-Fi Scapes, of video game and microchip, with Cindy Morgan of TRON. Or travel even back in time, with pre-historic special effects, to the TV land of Irwin Allen, with guests Mark Goddard, Lost in Space, and David Hedison of Voyage at the Bottom of the Sea. From Other Worlds to Other Worldly, arise from the crypt Dark Shadows vamps Kathryn Leigh Scott, Denise Nickerson, Diana Millay, Marie Wallace, and Nancy Barrett. And Disco Never Dies, with guest Karen Lynn Gorney, Saturday Night Fever.
Miramax Studios will also be in attendance to support the opening of comic great Frank Miller’s crime noir film “Sin City” with free giveaways.
This season’s Big Apple Con brings together one of the with guest of honor Jerry Robinson (creator of Robin and the Joker), Sergio Aragones (Cartoonist/writer for Mad Magazine since 1963), Jim Lee (Superman), Mark Bagley (Spider-Man artist), Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra Assasin), Roy Thomas (Conan), Alex Maleev (Daredevil), Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Creator) and over 100 more of the greatest comic illustrators and authors in the world! All available for sketches, interviews, signings, and portfolio reviews!
The Big Apple hosts a number of panels, workshops, and programs including: How to Write Comic Books, How to Draw Superheroes, and interviews with today’s hottest artists and illustrators. Plus, Big Apple Events feature All-Day Gaming, All-Day Anime Theater, Quick-Draw Contests, Giveaways, and Costume Contest of Superhero Stature!
