Tuc’ Me Inn B&B selected for HGTV’s “If Walls Could Talk”

A videographer and producer spent a full day at the Inn on Thursday, October 5, 2006. The series shares lore and intrigue from homes rich in history—some good, some notorious. Many of the featured buildings have housed famous (or infamous!) characters, while others are the sites of significant historical events. Some of the selected structures are simply filled with good stories or were home to everyday folks with colorful past.

A Federal style home built in 1850, The Tuc’ Me Inn was selected based on completion of a lengthy questionnaire which outlined the extensive history of the building as well as the many artifacts that were found during restoration. Filming included owners Wes and Linda Matchett being interviewed at length about each of the items as well as footage of the property and areas where the pieces were found. Some of the objects that were highlighted during the filming include a 111 year old message and signature, a crocheted shawl hidden between the walls, an article from the August 28, 1928 edition of the Boston Globe and several small toys which may date from the late 1800s.

“It is an honor to be selected and we cannot wait to see the finished product. The show’s crew worked very hard to help us tell the story of this beautiful home and its occupants,” say the Matchetts.

According to the show’s producer, the show will air some time during the Spring or Summer, 2007.
