Local Committee Launches Web Site
To Gather Public Comments And Questions

RALEIGH, N.C. – Wake County Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC), an independent committee charged with evaluating the Wake County Public School System’s capital improvement programs as well as other County capital improvement programs, has launched its new Web site http://www.wakegov.com/cfac. The site will contain an electronic form visitors can complete to send suggestions, questions or comments to the committee. In addition to the form, visitors can find information about the committee members and notes from past meetings. The committee plans to use the information collected through the new Web form to create a frequently-asked-questions page and to help engage the public in its work.

“This new site and form are an important tool for us to gather public input,” said Billie Redmond, committee co-chair. “Because we are an independent committee that serves the community we want to ensure that we leverage citizens’ knowledge as a resource so that we cover the entire scope of this critical issue and engage the public in our work.”

About Wake County Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee:
Formed in June 2006, the Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee is charged with evaluating the Wake County Public School System’s capital improvement program and evaluating school design criteria, construction management and delivery methods. Initially, the committee will review WCPSS’ facility program. However, the work of the committee is long-term and also includes reviewing Wake County capital projects. The 13-member committee was established jointly by the Wake County Board of Education and Wake County Board of Commissioners and will report its findings to both boards and the public. Committee members include persons with experience in corporate leadership, architecture and engineering, financial management, public administration, business, government and the nonprofit sector.
