New Editors in Chief Join American Journal of Perinatology

New York, Stuttgart - Thieme New York announces the appointment of George Saade, M.D., and Rosemary D. Higgins, M.D., as the new editors in chief of the “American Journal of Perinatology”. Dr. Saade is a professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Higgins is a program scientist for the Neonatal Research Network, Center for Developmental Biology and Perinatal Medicine NICHD, NIH, located in Bethesda, Maryland. Both Dr. Saade and Dr. Higgins bring a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of experience to the journal.
Significant changes to the journal include the expansion of submission guidelines as well as the opportunity to submit manuscripts online. The institution of the electronic version of the publication will ensure that material is rapidly published online.
Recent improvements to the “American Journal of Perinatology” represent Dr. Saade and Dr. Higgins’ commitment to the journal continuing to play a crucial role in the acquisition and dissemination of medical information.
Published eight times per year (and 10 times a year in 2007), the “American Journal of Perinatology” is an international, peer-reviewed and indexed journal for original research and topical reviews that is available online and in print. It primarily focuses on clinical and translational research, clinical and technical advances in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment as well as evidence-based reviews. The journal is the definitive forum for communicating information to specialists in obstetrics, neonatology, perinatology, and maternal/fetal medicine.
