Positive Health Awards - Call for Nominations India’s first Health Awards to Honor the spirit of survival and for a healthy life
Bangalore October 11, 2006: Dr. Batra’s® Positive Health Clinic celebrates the opening of its 50th Clinic worldwide with the institution of Annual awards to honour Indians who have fought and triumphed against disease and disability. The Positive Health Awards will be institutionalized as an annual tradition of recognizing individuals who have created medical miracles through the demonstration of their instinct for survival, courage and will power beaten the odds and recovered from seemingly irrecoverable conditions. It salutes those who have struggled and survived disease and disability to lead normal, healthy lives.
Like Nitesh Sonawane who lost his eyes in the Mumbai bomb blasts of 1993. Undeterred, he went on to become a professional musician. We seek to recognize similarly outstanding examples of personal courage.
Announcing the institution of these awards, Dr Mukesh Batra, CMD Dr. Batra’s® Positive Health Clinics said, "The will to live is probably the greatest determinant between those who survive and those who succumb to a similar life-threatening condition. As a medical professional, I have always been fascinated by this instinct for survival, how disease will strengthen it in some and sap it in others”. Adding further he said, In my many years of practice, I have seen remarkable medical miracles – People who through sheer courage and will power beaten the odds and recovered from seemingly irrecoverable conditions. We have instituted The Positive Health Awards as a way of honouring this spirit and re-affirming our commitment to all round health and positivism".
Nominations to be sent with the details of the person and case history to: Email id: positivehealthawards@gmail.com before 12th October
