Leading SaaS Provider Invades ASO Space: WebApps Welcomes Newest Partner, PRplus

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. —October 5, 2006— WebApps, Inc., a leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), with a major push in Time and Labor Management, announced its newest strategic partnership with PRplus, an Administrative Service Organization (ASO) located in Greenville, SC. The partnership emerges as PRplus begins to grow within the ASO industry to target larger organizations. An ASO is an organization that offers businesses administrative services related to managing a workforce. Unlike a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), ASOs deal solely in business applications and have nothing to do with leasing an employee. These services often include activities having to do with human resources, payroll, benefits administration, and other functions that are necessary to efficiently utilize employees.
Time and Labor Management solutions now play a more important roll in the offerings of an ASO. “Because ASOs often interact with their clients based on an ‘al a carte’ approach, having a variety of solutions that can be used separately or together is important,” said WebApps Product Manager Rudy Roca. “Normally, a PEO offers a bundle of services. An ASO that chooses to offer a Time and Labor Management solution needs to be sure that the piece is robust enough to stand alone, yet able to interface easily with their existing software.”
The fact that WebApps’ solution fulfills these criteria is an item that makes the application attractive to an ASO. “As PRplus begins to expand in the ASO arena, the demand for a robust and sophisticated Time and Labor Management application to accommodate larger markets is growing,” stated PRplus Vice President Paul Garrigan. “WebApps’ software not only satisfies that need, but also cuts down on the energy spent on our part. Information only needs to be entered one time and will automatically be populated to all parts of our Payroll and Human Resources platform, eliminating unnecessary duplicate work.”
Organizations can benefit greatly from using the services provided by an ASO. One way is that using an ASO offers smaller businesses administrative functions that are normally more commonplace in larger organizations. Another advantage of using an ASO is that a company can focus on the business of their business, instead of on the activities that are necessary with regard to the management of a workforce.
