Announces New President
Julie Lowery Named President To NC Nursing Association
RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists (NCANA) has announced that Julie Lowery has been named the organization’s president for 2006-2007. Lowery, who previously served as the NCANA president-elect, had her presidency officially announced at the NCANA annual meeting held on Sept. 22–24 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
In this position, Lowery will be responsible for presiding at association and board meetings, preparing and reading a yearly work report at the NCANA annual meeting, and keeping Board members informed of ongoing association affairs.
“I am honored to be named president of the North Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists,” said Lowery. “This organization is fundamental in advancing and promoting the best interests of nurse anesthesia, as well as encouraging the highest standards of professional education, proficiency and ethics within our profession. It is a privilege to lead this organization in its collection of outstanding and life-improving causes.”
About Julie Lowery:
Julie Ann Lowery, CRNA, graduated from the University of San Francisco in California after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She received her MS at the California State University at Long Beach, CA through the Kaiser Permanente School of Nurse Anesthesia Program. Julie is a staff CRNA/clinical instructor at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. She has been an active member in a variety of leadership roles within NCANA, and is a regular faculty member at NCANA Meetings.
