Laura Dean, the President of wRiteBlocks(c), has worked with Learning Disabled children for more than 17 years, and teaches a merged Phonics / Whole-Language system from the Learning Disabled perspective. “As a parent and tutor of Learning-disabled children, I could see where the kids were not connecting what they learned in school to real-life situations and I wanted to help them create special tricks to work around their problems.” The handwriting worksheets and flashcards have:
• graduated levels of word groups that have the same root-word for learning a larger vocabulary base without overwhelming the student with too much new information
• color coded Root-Word and Silent-E indicators to give short-cuts to learning words and object labels
• a left-edge-line reference point in a writing-line grid to help correct reversed letters
• letter squares to help with correct formation of letters and sentence spacing structures
• a solid bottom-line in red, dashed middle-line in blue, and a solid top-line in blue to make transition to regular writing paper easier
• pictures to connect the written words to their objects
• object/label flashcards sets include 1)picture card 2)name card 3)picture/name card
