Frustrated with Increasing Fees on eBay, Sellers Turn to Free Alternative Auction Web Site

Milford, CT — Sellers on eBay recently received a notice letting them know about fee increases for selling items on the Internet auction giant. The added cost is eating away at already slim profits for many sellers, and is forcing them to look for alternatives. Many have begun listing their inventory for sale on a rapidly growing free auction web site, bringing profits back to their sales.
"You can enjoy all of the features of eBay, but pay no fees," explained Shane McCormack, president of http://www.IBidFree.com. "No fees to list, sell, or buy an item — not even a membership fee," he added.
IBidFree.com, is a solution for eBay store owners unwilling to pay the increased eBay fees. It works well for individuals selling just one or two items from time to time, as well as for the seasoned auction seller working full-time.
"We created IbidFree.com for people who just want to sell their unwanted items, as well as for businesses trying to market their products without all of their profits being swallowed up by eBay charges and fees. This is a perfect opportunity for the person working from home," said McCormack.
The company is not only competing based on fees, they also offer marketing advantages not found on eBay.
"Unlike eBay, at IBidFree.com sellers are encouraged to place a link in their auctions back to their own web sites. They are also allowed to directly E-mail each other to allow for better communication and help sellers market their auctions to potential buyers and past buyers," said McCormack.
McCormack is a former eBay seller who left the giant because of his frustrations. He believes that there are thousands of other sellers who are equally frustrated, but until now have not had a viable alternative.
"This fee increase will wind up forcing buyers and sellers to find an alternative to eBay. I think we offer the perfect solution," he said.
Robert Finnimore, owner of Tailgate Tickets, is a former eBay seller who has made the switch to IbidFree.com.
"I made the decision to stop selling on eBay completely," said Finnimore. "I registered on IbidFree.com recently and listed some auctions. I'm very pleased with the results. I'm making sales and saving all those fees I would have paid to eBay. I've been telling all my past customers and business contacts what I am doing and recommending they do the same."
McCormack pointed out the mission of his company as stated on his web site:
"We created IBidFree.com to help entrepreneurs worldwide to become more independent and successful, and our goal is to help empower everyone to buy and sell items on the Internet totally free of any fees and help the economy by having our users buy, sell, and trade items from their homes or businesses."
