A unique online Toy Design Contest seeks the best creative ideas for a fictional alien space baby. The contest is open to all creative minds and is free to enter.

ToyDesignContest.com is the first phase of a project to create a line of collectible toys around the trend of consumer designed products. Based on a fictional story about the discovery of an alien space baby deep under water off the coast of Bermuda, the contest seeks design ideas for what this space baby or "Starby" will look like. 100% of the products in the collectible line of toys that come as a result of the contest will be consumer designed.

The grand prize winner of the contest will receive a $1000 Visa gift card plus have their design turned into a real toy. There are several other category of prizes including the "viewers choice" award which is given to the design that captures the greatest number of votes on the system. All the designers with winning designs will receive ongoing roylties on their designs as well.

"The primary purpose of the contest is to create a fun, collectible toy around a unique story line" says Mark Richards, the founder of ToyDesignContest.com and MyStarby.com, "However, the other reason for the project is to give ordinary folks an opportunity to express themselves creatively and to be a part of the development of a toy concept."

The contest is open to anyone in the world. The contest deadline for entries is October 31st. 2006.
