Cumberland, ME- The Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association, NELMA, announces the promotion of Marc Moore, Inspector, to the position of Director of Inspection Services. Moore’s new duties will encompass the administration and management of NELMA’s inspection and evaluation services program. In addition, Moore will oversee the supervision of the Association‘s existing staff of eight Inspectors. NELMA is accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee to provide inspection services for lumber, timbers, and export wood packaging. In addition, NELMA is one of seven agencies in North America accredited to publish softwood lumber grading rules for use by the forest products industry.
Bringing more than 21 years of lumber operation knowledge to NELMA’s manufacturing and quality control process, Moore began his career in the forest products industry with P.H. Chadbourne Co. of Bethel, Maine. His extensive work experience in the lumber business has included grading, dry kiln operation and supervision, planer mill design and start-up, and quality control supervision. Moore was hired by NELMA in August of 2003, to fill the position of Inspector for the Lumber and Export Wood Packaging division.
“We are looking forward to more of Marc’s positive impact with NELMA,” says Jeff Easterling, President of NELMA. “As the Association moves forward, we will continue to meet the needs of our members in an ever-changing forest industry climate.”
