Philadelphia Chapter of Society for Technical Communication Annual, Award-Winning Workshop and Conference, March 18-19, 2005 In Great Valley, PA

The award-winning annual conference for the Society for Technical Communication’s Philadelphia Metro Chapter returns to Penn State’s Great Valley campus on Saturday, March 19, 2005. This year’s conference, Transforming Your Career, features a keynote address delivered by internationally renowned technical communicator, trainer, and specialist in the use of visual arts, . Presentations on career issues, tools, and techniques relevant to today’s technical communicators from local chapter members and other specialists make up a packed and exciting conference schedule. Christopher Kojm of the National Book Award nominated 9/11 Commission Report will address the importance of the accurate technical information in the report and answer questions at an address scheduled for the afternoon of the conference.

Pre-conference activities include a workshop on Visual Structure given by Jean-luc Doumont on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Penn State Great Valley Campus.

For the second year, Governor Rendell has declared the week of the conference, March 13-20, as Technical Communicators’ Week in Pennsylvania. Governor Rendell recognizes the vital role technical communicators play in the Pennsylvania workforce and has chosen again to annually honor all those who contribute to the field of technical communication.

Registration in advance is advised, and information is available on the chapter website, stcpmc.org. Conference attendees can register and pay online for both the workshop and the conference.
