AllergyKids Universal Symbol to Identify and Protect the Millions of Children with Life Threatening Food Allergies

As seen on CNN, AllergyKids' mission is to create universal awareness of the 5 million American children with life threatening food allergies.Until AllergyKids, there was no universal symbol for food allergies. AllergyKids’ universal symbol, a bright green fluorescent octagon containing a black exclamation point, and kid-friendly line of products make it easy to identify children with food allergies.
AllergyKids universal symbol is being embraced by schools, daycare centers, nurses, doctors and corporations across the country.
“My hope for AllergyKids is to prevent accidental, life threatening reactions by making it easy for everyone – teachers, caregivers, parents and play dates - to identify a child with food allergies,” said Robyn O’Brien, founder of AllergyKids, whose fourth child has food allergies.
“AllergyKids needs to be a household name” said Dina Brudenell, M.D. The AllergyKids symbol will represent food allergies, just as the pink ribbon stands for breast cancer.
There are almost five million children with food allergies, but no way of identifying them in school, in the lunch room, at a birthday party or at a friend’s house.
AllergyKids products, available at www.allergykids.com and 800-671-1525, include stickers, lunch bags, wristbands, pins, magnets, embroidered decals and Epipen® carrying cases. Each product features the recognizable AllergyKids symbol. A portion of all proceeds from AllergyKids.com will go into the AllergyKids Foundation to fund medical research being done by the Food Allergy Initiative in the hopes of finding a cure for food allergies.
