Roanoke Rapids, NC - Carolina Crossroads is getting closer to reaching its goal of raising $1 million for the Children’s Miracle Network and its affiliated hospitals, University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina’s Children’s Hospital in Greenville and Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center in Durham. The September 23 concert featuring country artists Hank Williams, Jr. and Gretchen Wilson will put Carolina Crossroads a step closer to reaching its goal.

“It’s a wonderful feeling of happiness knowing we can help and support sick children in need. Giving money to these hospitals is the least we can do to show our appreciation for all they do.”, said George Ragsdale of Carolina Crossroads and longtime supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network.
Donations raised will directly touch the lives of children through camps for chronically ill pediatric patients and provide support for capital projects, pediatric research, as well as help purchase specialized pediatric equipment such as cardiac monitors.

“When I saw some of the children at our first concert in June with country artist Big & Rich, it made me proud to support such an organization that is helping so many children,” said Michael Dunlow, president of Carolina Crossroads.

“The premise of the Children’s Miracle Network program is that 100% of all money raised stays local to benefit sick and injured children. Therefore your donation will have a direct impact on the treatment of a child right here at home,” said Rhonda James, CMN Coordinator at UHS’ Children’s Hospital. Bob Johnson, Director of CMN Corporate Accounts at Duke added, “Each year thousands of children are helped by the funds raised through Children’s Miracle Network. We are so incredibly grateful for the tremendous support and commitment of Carolina Crossroads.”
The September 23 concert is the third in a series of "Randy Parton and Carolina Crossroads Present" concerts leading up to the grand opening of The Randy Parton Theatre, scheduled to open in spring 2007.

Concert tickets are available from ticketmaster.com.
