TSTC students reap the benefits of vendor-neutral anti-cyber crime courses

IT training company Tshukudu Technology College (TSTC), which specialises in providing ‘fast track’ certification in Microsoft, Cisco and Citrix software for network and systems managers, has delighted its students by adding courses leading to the qualifications of Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI).

These short courses have been developed by the USA-based EC-Council and its major distributors in Europe, SSR-I, the specialist cyber crime fighters based in the UK.

“The CEH courses are key to understanding how to fight cyber crime effectively,” explained TSTC’s Emile Kok. “Completing the CEH course successfully certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of ethical hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective.

“The CHFI course enables organisations to identify a path that an intruder took over the network; reveal intermediate intrusions and provide leads and corroborating evidence for disciplinary action,” he continued.

“The SSR-i/EC-Council courses are the ‘crème de la crème’ in the computer security world because they are ‘vendor-neutral’ – which adds to their objectivity. We’re delighted to be offering what is, at present, the highest standard of computer security courses available anywhere.”

Emile Kok explained: “Network and system security is a major issue for every organisation – from the smallest to the largest multinational. Consequently, we had run some Microsoft security courses but we have found that our students value the objectivity of the SSR-i courses.”

Computers and networks are the backbone of a modern company. Without a network, there is no email, no database and, without IT, no business continuity.

This means that network and system managers need, among ‘conventional’ IT skills, the ability to identify and prevent attempts at cyber crime – both from within and outside their networks and systems.
