Des Moines, Iowa — Meredith Corporation, publisher of Better Homes & Gardens Scrapbooks etc., has announced a partnership with InXpo, the world’s largest, most comprehensive online convention provider, to launch the first online consumer scrapbook show. The show is scheduled to occur in February 2007 and again in November 2007. Few “brick-and-mortar” scrapbooking shows are currently available to the consumer. Scrapbooks etc.’s five-day online show will allow attendees worldwide, novice and expert scrapbookers alike, the ability to learn and be inspired through an ideas gallery, attend unique education sessions and see the latest techniques and products, with the ability to buy products at the show. Show attendees need only an Internet-connected computer to attend, and since the show is online, it will be open around the clock.
“On average, scrapbookers spend more than seven hours a week scrapbooking. Nearly half of this group works full time, so we understand they don’t have time to travel long distances to attend a physical show,” said Jeff Myers, General Manager of Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications. “InXpo has a top-notch technology platform offering our customers all the features of a physical consumer show, which they can attend at their own convenience.”
