A Revolutionary New Way to Bill Content

UK based technology company Liquid11 has pioneered a revolutionary new way to bill customers for visual content on a DVD.

Their Secure DVD system, allows you to place content onto a DVD but behind a pass code. Content owners can choose to give part of the content freely but charge a premium for the second part. The DVD can in effect carry premium content which can then only be unlocked and viewed by sending a text message or making a premium rate (090) call to retrieve a unique password. Once you have your code, you simply enter it via your DVD player’s remote control and you are then free to watch the premium content.

Viewers may be given a sneak preview of the locked content as part of the DVD’s introduction; or you may choose to give away the first part of your feature for free with the remaining content locked to the DVD. Viewers will then be greeted with a DVD menu that will prompt them to send a keyword to a short code number and in return issue a password that has to be entered on screen via the DVD remote control.

An 090 IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system is also available for viewers to use should they not be in reach of a mobile phone or have no credit if they are a Pay As You Go user. Simply call the number, follow the prompts and a password will be relayed to you down the phone with the cost of the content being billed to your landline.
